Healthcare Services in Kuchaman City

Not very long ago, Kuchaman city was just a remote village, amidst the sand dunes of Thar Desert. The place lacked all basic amenities and the local residents were poor villagers. But presently, Kuchaman has developed itself to become a main trading centre and an exotic tourist location. With development came all the basic necessities required like good infrastructure, sanitation system, schools, colleges and hospitals.

Healthcare services are one of the primary services for the development of a place. Without hospitals, clinics and dispensaries it is impossible for any person to stay at any place. Because these are the emergency services, which can secure people at times of need.

With medical care becoming vital in our day to day life, Kuchaman city has made its network of hospitals and nursing homes for the present population, with proper in-house doctors, medical and paramedical staff. But still the place is lagging behind in many areas and people have to depend more on the Nagaur main town hospitals. The only government hospital of Kuchaman is not a huge one and has limited medical facilities.

Post 2000, the ministry of health of the state is constantly boosting this healthcare unit with funding, to help them progress. This state hospital is immensely popular among the poor section of the society. There is an ICU present to deal with any critical case. Other than this, patients can get treatment at the Nagaur District Main Hospital which is not very far from Kuchaman. Both the hospitals have their own ambulance services present.

Kuchaman Vikas Samity (KVS), a government registered independent organization found in the year 1978, has constantly tried to uplift the overall standard of life in Kuchaman. Apart from other social activities, KVS had also been a major contributor in the field of healthcare. This society with the passage of time had built a Homoeopathy Hospital, Ayurvedic Hospital with the help of Government aid in this region. Many free healthcare camps are also being organized by them at various parts of Nagaur district along with Kuchaman.

Other than these the place has got many medical stores, pathological labs and diagnostic centres for the residents. There are around 20 mobile health units scattered in various pockets of the city which help the poor section with free medical help and medicines. Being one of the front runners in education services in Rajasthan, Kuchaman has one of the best nursing institutes of the state, Marudhar College of Nursing.
